Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) has completed delivery of an additional Spirit of Tasmania car and passenger ferry for the Australian TT-Line Company, the second it has provided since 2024.
The delivery marks the completion of one of the largest bilateral export projects ever between Finland and Australia.

Spirit of Tasmania (TT-Line Company Pty Ltd) initially ordered two car and passenger ferries from RMC for operation between Geelong and Devonport in the Bass Strait of Australia.

The vessel represents the strong shipbuilding expertise found in Rauma and demonstrates the capabilities of the Rauma shipyard.

The new vessels have been specifically designed to operate amongst challenging sea conditions and are set to replace the company’s previous fleet, which was initially built in Finland in the 1990’s.
Measuring in at 212 metres; both new vessels are capable of carrying 1,800 passengers with a maximum speed of 26 knots (48km/h), measuring in at 212 metres, with a total employment impact of the project marking over 3,500 person years.
