Port Canaveral has officially been named the busiest cruise port in the world following a record-breaking 8.6 million revenue passenger movements in the 2025 financial year.

The rise represents a 13% increase over the previous number recorded in the 2024 financial year, and the highest number of cruise passengers in the port’s history.

Capt. John Murray, Port Canaveral CEO, said:

Earning this distinction is a direct reflection of our ongoing commitment and focused efforts to be the best port possible, providing a high-quality experience for all cruise guests sailing from our Port.

With thanks to our hard-working teams and the confidence we’ve earned from the cruise lines, this milestone underscores our commitment to supporting our cruise partners’ business growth.

The Port recently invested in right-sizing its six cruise terminals and parking facilities in order to meet increased demand for cruise sailings from Central Florida, and currently serves as homeport for 18 ships across seven cruise brands.

Additionally, the site is currently expanding two existing terminals as part of the Port Canaveral Advantage, a 912 million USD five-year capital improvement initiative that will also see the construction of a seventh new cruise terminal campus, parking facilities and the deployment of new technology to improve accessibility and convenience when sailing from the Central Florida region.
