Americold has officially opened a new temperature-controlled import-export hub at Port Saint John in New Brunswick, Canada, marking the latest development in the port’s growing logistics network.
The facility was inaugurated on 18 June during Port Days 2026, the port’s annual maritime and industry conference. The project has been developed in partnership with CPKC and DP World and brings together cold storage, port operations and rail transport services at a single site.
The hub combines Americold’s cold storage operations with DP World’s marine logistics services and CPKC’s rail network, creating a direct route for the movement of temperature-sensitive products between inland production areas and overseas markets.
Rob Chambers, Chief Executive Officer of Americold, said:This opening leverages our collaboration with leading global trade and transportation partners, creating a uniquely integrated solution to move temperature-sensitive products between inland production regions and international markets more efficiently and reliably.
It is another example of how we are evolving our network to better serve our customers through differentiated solutions that open new growth opportunities for the Company. The launch of this facility further supports our 2026 priorities and positions Americold for sustainable long-term growth and shareholder value creation.
Located on the waterfront at Port Saint John, the hub is designed to support imports and exports moving between Central and Eastern Canada and international markets in Europe, South America and the Asia-Pacific region.
The site offers capacity for approximately 22,000 pallet positions and has been designed to handle high volumes of imported and exported goods. Direct access between the warehouse and port facilities removes the need for drayage, reducing the number of handling stages between ship and storage.
Craig Bell Estabrooks, President & CEO of Port Saint John said:Americold is a tremendous addition to Port Saint John and to the broader trade ecosystem taking shape at our gateway. Their import-export hub on the waterfront strengthens our role in enabling trade diversification and driving economic prosperity in New Brunswick and beyond.
The opening forms part of wider investment in port and rail infrastructure at Port Saint John, which has been expanding its role in containerised trade.
