The European Commission has announced the official launch of the new EU Industrial Maritime Value Chains Alliance.
Following up on its commitment within the recently adopted European Industrial Maritime Strategy; the alliance aims to bring together maritime manufacturers, shipowners and other downstream users, EU Member States and their regions, investors, and social partners.

The alliance’s main goal is to help to strengthen Europe’s maritime industrial and technological sovereignty across a number of identified lead markets, most notably segments with the potential to bolster Europe’s overall maritime manufacturing capacity.
It will also aim to help create business cases for the scaling of production and deployment in market segments and technologies relevant for the EU manufacturing base, as well as address the needs of the shipping, ports, and other segments of the maritime sector.
Additionally, the alliance will seek to prompt targeted investment, public-private synergies and industrial collaboration towards joint action and concrete projects, while addressing market, trade and competitiveness challenges in a more comprehensive manner.
A call for applications has invited stakeholders to join if they comply with all eligibility criteria and commit to the objectives of the Alliance, with the call set to remain open continuously with a first cut-0ff deadline on 16 October 2026.
