Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) and the Imetame Group have announced the establishment of the Hanseatic Global Terminals Aracruz S.A. joint venture.

The venture will see both companies combine their expertise to both develop and operate the new Hanseatic Global Terminals Aracruz container terminal, with an operational launch expected mid-2028.

This transaction follows a previous agreement signed between the two parties in December 2025.

Located in Aracruz within the state of Espírito Santo; the new terminal is designed to handle the latest generations of large vessels, with a draft of 17 meters, 750 meters of quay length and a range of state of the art container handling equipment.

The facility will have an annual capacity of around 1.2 million TEU.

Completion of the transaction reinforces Hanseatic Global Terminals’ commitment to Latin America, with the company planning to further develop its portfolio to expand to over 30 terminals by 2030.
